The Snake River ranch has 2800 planted acres near Burbank Washington, just south of the Snake River. The orchards have been redeveloped into primarily high-density apple plantings on vertical trellising systems, to maximize growing efficiencies and water. In addition to apples, the Snake River Orchard grows approximately 630 acres of Concord Grapes, Syrah and Cabernet wine grapes, and cherries.
Apple varieties at Snake River include: Cosmic Crisp, Aztec Fuji, Buckeye Gala, Granny Smith, Red Honeycrisp, Premier Honeycrisp, and Ruby Pink.
Taggares Fruit Company acquired 1400 acres of apples and cherries on the north side of the Snake River in the Spring of 2020, managed as Ice Harbor. This property had been partially redeveloped by the prior owner but remained mostly untrellised low-coloring apple and cherry varietals. Taggares Fruit Company will complete full redevelopment of this orchard in 2023, replacing low-density plantings with high-density, high-coloring varieties.
Apple varieties at Ice Harbor include: Cosmic Crisp, Buckeye Gala, Granny Smith, Red Honeycrisp, Premier Honeycrisp, and Ruby Pink, and both conventional and organic Pink Lady.
